Ambassador to deploy former Oceania ship for German expansion
Sirena is set to become Ambella and launch German-language cruises from Bremerhaven and Kiel in 2028.

Ambassador Cruise Line has been identified as the previously undisclosed buyer of Oceania Cruises’ Sirena, with plans to use the vessel to support its expansion into Germany. Sirena is scheduled to remain with Oceania through spring 2028 while completing previously published voyages.
The 670-passenger ship is planned to be renamed Ambella and begin sailing for Ambassador Kreuzfahrten, the company’s dedicated German-market brand, in summer 2028. Its German-speaking program from Bremerhaven and Kiel is expected to include 11 destination-focused sailings between May and September, along with two repositioning cruises.
From fall 2028, Ambella is also scheduled to operate seasonal winter charters for 10 years for the Institute for Shipboard Education, the nonprofit organization that administers the Semester at Sea program.
The German launch follows Ambassador’s January 2025 merger with Compagnie Francaise de Croisière. The French operation was subsequently rebranded as Ambassador Croisiere and is planned to continue operating from France while also offering a Caribbean fly-cruise program.
