Ambassador schedules 2027 solar eclipse cruise from Dundee
The 19-night Ambition voyage will visit Spain and Portugal after departing on July 27, 2027.

Ambassador Cruise Line has scheduled a 19-night solar eclipse cruise to Spain and Portugal from Dundee. The voyage aboard Ambition is due to depart on July 27, 2027, with interior, ocean-view and suite accommodation available. Food is included with the listed interior-cabin fare.
The cruise follows an earlier 13-night Solar Eclipse voyage on Ambition from Dundee, with stops in the Faroes, Iceland and Shetland. During that sailing, passengers gathered on an open deck and used specially provided protective eyewear to watch the eclipse.
After consulting guest astronomer and Sky at Night presenter Pete Lawrence, the captain moved Ambition closer to Greenland’s coast because they believed skies would be clearer there.
Ambition accommodates 1,200 passengers and has numerous bars. Dining choices include the Holyrood and Buckingham restaurants, the Borough Market buffet and a top-deck snack bar. The ship also offers Indian, Mediterranean and steakhouse dining.
Entertainment during the earlier voyage featured television impressionist and amateur astronomer Jon Culshaw as the headline act at the Palladium theatre. Stand-up comedians Clark Stewart and Rudi West also performed.
