Ambassador adds 2027 solar eclipse sailing from Dundee
The 19-night Ambition itinerary will visit Portugal, Spain and Gibraltar during the total solar eclipse on Aug. 2, 2027.
Ambassador Cruise Line has added a 19-night Mediterranean voyage aboard Ambition for summer 2027, timed to offer views of the total solar eclipse expected to cross the western Mediterranean.
Published itineraries show the Mediterranean Moments & Solar Eclipse cruise departing Dundee, Scotland, on July 27, 2027. Listed under sailing code A22718DD, the voyage is being marketed by Ambassador as a one-off itinerary centered on the eclipse’s passage across the Strait of Gibraltar.
Port schedules indicate calls at Leixões, the gateway for Porto and northern Portugal’s wine country, followed by destinations in Spain including Almería, Alicante, Valencia and Ibiza. Ambition is also scheduled to visit Ceuta, the Spanish exclave on the North African coast.
Gibraltar will be the focal point of the itinerary, with Ambition scheduled to be there on Aug. 2, 2027, when the total solar eclipse is expected to cross the region.
