Ambassador acquires Oceania Sirena for new German cruise brand
The 670-guest ship will become Ambella in 2028 after completing a leaseback period with Oceania Cruises.

Ambassador Cruise Line has acquired Oceania Sirena from Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and plans to rename the vessel Ambella for its new German-focused brand, Ambassador Kreuzfahrten.
Under a leaseback agreement, the 670-guest ship will continue operating in the Oceania Cruises fleet until spring 2028. It is then scheduled to join Ambassador in summer 2028, offering adults-only cruises conducted entirely in German from Bremerhaven and Kiel.
Between May and September 2028, Ambella is expected to sail two repositioning voyages and 11 destination-focused itineraries. The planned program will include ports in northern Europe and the Baltics, along with selected cruises to southern Europe.
Following its German summer season, the ship is expected to host Semester at Sea programs for about eight months annually. The first such period is planned from September 2028 through April 2029, under a partnership expected to have an initial 10-year term.
Ambassador plans to announce further details about Ambassador Kreuzfahrten’s 2028 program in November 2026.
