AmaWaterways plans April 2027 debut for AmaRudi

The double-width Danube vessel is expected to carry 196 guests and feature expanded dining, wellness and entertainment facilities.

AmaWaterways is preparing to launch AmaRudi, described as Europe’s largest river cruise ship. The vessel is scheduled to begin operating on the Danube River in April 2027, offering itineraries designed to run for at least one week.

AmaRudi will accommodate 196 guests across 98 staterooms and suites. Planned amenities include four dining venues: Al Fresco, The Lark Lounge, The Chef’s Table and Rudi’s Wine Bar. The ship will also have the Zen Wellness Studio and a regulation-size pickleball court.

A new entertainment area for the cruise line is set to include a movie theater, karaoke, billiards and a jukebox. AmaRudi will become AmaWaterways’ second double-width ship, following AmaMagna, which launched in 2019.

The maiden sailing is scheduled to depart April 18, 2027, from Budapest, Hungary, for Vilshofen, Germany. A second departure is planned for April 25, following the same itinerary in the reverse direction.
