ALMACO completes Legend of the Seas refrigeration project
Royal Caribbean International’s third Icon Class ship built at MEYER TURKU entered Mediterranean service in July 2026.
ALMACO Group said it completed its refrigeration machinery project for Royal Caribbean International’s Legend of the Seas at the MEYER TURKU shipyard in Turku, Finland, in June 2026.
The vessel underwent sea trials with more than 2,000 engineers and specialists and covered approximately 2,400 nautical miles. During the trials, teams assessed propulsion, navigation, mechanical infrastructure and other technical systems under operating conditions.
Legend of the Seas is the third Icon Class vessel constructed for Royal Caribbean International at MEYER TURKU. The ship measures about 250,800 gross tonnes, is 365 metres long and accommodates 5,610 passengers.
The ship began seven-night Western Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona and Civitavecchia in July 2026, with calls at Naples, Palma de Mallorca and Marseille. From November 2026, it moves to Fort Lauderdale for six-night Western Caribbean and eight-night Southern Caribbean itineraries. Scheduled destinations include Oranjestad in Aruba, Willemstad in Curaçao and Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas.
