AIDAperla held in Le Havre after breaking free from moorings
Tugboats resecured the cruise ship after it contacted the berth during strong winds, with an inspection underway.

AIDAperla broke free from its moorings and contacted the berth in Le Havre, France, on Tuesday as strong winds affected the port. French authorities had warned that a passing weather front could bring strong winds, while media reports put gusts at up to 68 mph.
Several tugboats responded, and the cruise ship was secured to the dock by 6:30 p.m. An inspection was underway to establish the extent of any damage, and the vessel remained in port during the assessment.
No passenger injuries were reported. However, passengers who were ashore could not immediately reboard while the ship was being resecured. About 500 passengers waited aboard buses during the response.
Passenger shipping in Le Havre was also reported to be restricted while the port worked to recover the cruise ship’s gangways from the harbor. A German media report said passengers had been informed that AIDAperla’s scheduled calls at Rotterdam and Zeebrugge were canceled.
